Why not cover everyone in the United States with a simlar health plan like that covering government employees? The use of computer technology to maximize efficiency across the spectrum would have positive economic and social benefits.

We don’t need to invent a new system, the system developed and currently used by the Veterans Administration (VA) is a perfect model. Physicians at the VA use computers to diagnos illness, prescribe medications, monitor treatment and document medical histories. The VA system significantly reduces costs for veterans medical care while maintaining a high quality.

Universal health coverage would also significantly reduce the cost of employee insurance for large and small busineses concerns in the United States. This would benefit new business start ups as well as giving existing businesses a more competetive position in the World Market.
